Michael Shannon is very unhappy about people in America who voted for Donald Trump. Recently he said that he thought those voters should form their own country, something he referred to as “the United States of Moronic Fucking Assholes." Clearly Michael Shannon is not a happy man. Or even a stable man. Is it possible that all of the unhinged maniacs he plays in film and television are just mirrors of his own, twisted personality? I suppose that's possible.

And yet, he has perfectly captured the rage and frustration any sane person would be feeling at this precarious moment in history. Deep down, perhaps we're all just deranged prohibition agents who confuse religious morality, national pride, and murderous rage.
