You have most likely played Mario Kart, if you’re reading this website, and you may have even done it in a state of altered consciousness — alcohol, marijuana, Mountain Dew, take your pick. But it’s unlikely you’ve ever thought about the game’s deeper meanings — specifically, the political leanings of each character. Fortunately, the people at Art House Politics laid out their theory of ideological alignment in an incredibly amusing video, which you can watch below:

My one addition that Link is clearly a militarist, as an appointed sword who’s always ready to defend his queen. Otherwise, the commentary seems right on — Cat Peach is absolutely ready to go Nazi, and Toadette will put a brick through your window. Next up: Super Smash Brothers.
